Genelia Biography
Genelia is a popular South Indian Actress. Genelia D'Souza was Born on 5 August 1987 in England. Her parents originally hail from Goa and later moved to England.
Genelia studied at Apostolic Carmel High School in Bandra, Mumbai. After school, she joined the St. Andrews College, Bandra to pursue a Bachelor's Degree. Mumbai-based Genelia starred in the big budgeted Boys by top director Shankar. She starred opposite fellow débutante Siddharth. The film was a box-office hit and launched her career.
She has acted over a dozen films in South Indian cinema. She appeared in Tollywood and many Kollywood movies.
Genelia is Rocking
Genelia is having the time of her career these days. Genelia won the Filmfare Award as a Best Actress for her performance in the block buster Telugu movie Bommarillu for the year 2006.
Her last two releases, Siddharth starrer Bommarillu and Vishnu starrer Dhee have been big hits at the BO. The actress seems to be getting very selective with her films.
"After the success of Bommarillu and Dhee I have realised the expectations have shot up greatly and I have become very choosy about the films I accept," says Genelia.
She is playing the lead opposite Raja in her upcoming venture, Mr. Medhavi. "I'm very excited about my role in Mr Medhavi. I am playing an NRI who falls in love with a guy who works in a corporate company. I'm sure this will please the audiences," she adds.
