Jiah Khan Biography
Jiah Khan was born in New York but when she was two years old we shifted to London. Her parents were divorced when she was a little child. Jiah Khan's mother is Rabia Amin, who has acted in about five movies like Meri Jung and Locket. Now she is a producer and a writer. She used to visit India during holidays. She has two sisters who are working in Hollywood movies.
Jiah Khan had been acting since the age of five. She has done commercials for UNICEF. Jiah always wanted to be a professional actress ever since she was 13 years old. Jiah was to give up my studies for this!. However her mother insisted her to do masters and get into a nine-to-five job. A determined Jiah Khan finally convinced her when she was 16.
Jiah Khan debuted with Nishabd(Ram Gopal Varma's interpretation of Russian writer Vladimir Nabokov's controversial novel Lolita), in which at the age of 19 years, she acted as the love interest of 60plus Amitabh Bachchan. Jiah Khan managed to make a mark even though the film did not do well in box office. Nishabd is the intense love story of an older man and a younger girl. It is loosely based on Lolita. There are no sexual scenes in the movie. It is about a man who is stuck in his routine and when a fresh and fun-loving girl comes to his life, he is totally blown away by her.
Jiah Khan Personal Life
Jiah Khan is a English literature graduate and a trained Western dancer. After graduation, she joined a one-year acting course at New York. Six months into the course she got the role in Nishabd.
Jiah Khan don't usually laugh at jokes. She says, she don't understand half the jokes that people crack (laughs). Even if she watch a comedy film and my sisters are laughing, Jiah Khan used am quiet most of the time. But Mr Bachchan made her laugh! Jiah Khan used to say to every guy Jiah Khan dated that, they have to make her laugh, so that she will become their slave. Only Mr Bachchan has been able to do that!
