Ramya Krishnan is a indian multilingual actress. Ramya Krishnan has played heroine to all leading heroes in Indian cinema, including super star Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Govinda, Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Mammooty and Mohanlal. Ramya is an actress with immense glamour and screen presence.
When you ask her about the secret of her eternal youthfulness, Ramya isn’t amused and shoots back, “ Excuse me, is this someone’s idea of a joke? I am still young and not as old as some people make me out to be. Should I carry my age certificate to prove my age? Do you think my heroes; directors and producers would cast me if I were over the hill?”
says she started to act at the age of 13, first playing heroine to YG Mahendran in Vellai Manasu, a Tamil film that flopped. After a few initial hiccups, it was the film Muthal Vasantham, opposite Pandian, that went on to be a big hit at the box-office. At the early stages of her career, she found the going tough. Then, she shifted to Telugu and her godfather and famous director Raghavendra Rao, made her a star in Tollywood.
Meanwhile, in Tamil, when her career started floundering, she started doing special guest appearances for oomph item numbers. Remember the songs — Aattama Therottama... with Vijaykanth in Captain Prabhakaran or Ayyo Pathikkichu Pathikkichu... with Raju Sundaram in Rhythm or Thoodhu Varuma... in Khakka Khakka — in which she simply sizzled on screen. She has done more than 50 item numbers in numerous films. However, it was her role as Neelambari in Padayappa, which made her truly popular.
