The movies features Namitha opposite Parthiban, who has written the story, screenplay and dialogues besides wielding the megaphone. 'I've written songs set to tunes by Sabesh Murali', he adds.
Namitha is all thrilled to be part of the movie for she is keen to shed her glamour tag. 'I've only been a glamour doll and this film has given me an opportunity to act too. I'm extremely happy,' says Namitha. Parthiban says Namitha has a Smita Patil kind of role in the movie. 'Glamour as well as performance is the underlying idea,' he adds.
According to the buxom, busty and voluptuous Namitha , there is a lot of difference between vulgarity and glamour. Namitha is quite content about her role in ‘Pachchakkuthiraa’.
Asked about playing a glamorous role in the movie, Namitha said, 'There is a lot of difference between vulgarity and glamour. It is just a glamorous role'.
Namitha said, 'I just performed what director Parthiban wanted from me on the screen. I believe in the second half I had more scope to perform'.
She made her debut opposite Vijayakanth and has paired with ageing heroes of the industry. Now in a turn of fortunes, Namitha is working with young stars although as one of the two ladies. She is paired with Prashanth in Taxi driver and Srikanth in Pambarakkannale. As advised by her directors Namitha is working out to reduce flab. We will soon see a fitter Namitha lolling about with the youth brigade. Srikanth has a double role in Pambarakkannale.
Namitha is one of the busiest actresses in Tamil. She has five films on the floors notably the one with Srikanth titled Pambarakkannale. She is entering Telugu with Nayakudu in which action star Dr. Rajasekar is the hero. Namitha should not be content with playing glamour doll roles alone and should seek out meatier characters. Namitha has said that her favorite pastime is watching the cartoon channels. What a girl, baby!
She is reportedly upset about this fact and has even agreed to reduce her fees if cast opposite any of the leading young stars. Her wish has been granted in a film called Taxi driver, where she plays the lead opposite Prashanth. GTV which is Prashanth’s favorite banner is producing this film as well. The comedy track is performed by Vivek who plays the role of a Mumbaiwala.
There is a slight murmur of discontent amongst producers that Namitha insists that she travel only by Jet Airways. She prefers this airline to many others who offer better rates. The producers have to acquiesce to her quirky request for the sake of the project.
