Mallika Sherawat Biography
The first Indian woman to get an offer to pose nude for Playboy magazine. She turned down the offer, citing her morals and upbringing. Alas her fans lost the chance to see Mallika Sherawat nude.
If Mahesh Bhatt had his way in his film ‘Murder’, everyone would have seen a nude Mallika Sherawat picture. "Yes, there was such a scene which Bhatt wanted Mallika Sherawat naked. But I refused to shoot it. He had offered to use a body double and shoot Mallika Sherawat nude swimming in such a way that it would look as if I was totally naked in the pool. He said he'd take a top angle shot," says Sherawat. Her fans lost a change to see Mallika Sherawat nude again.
Mallika Sherawat was born in October 24, 1981 as Reema Lamba in Rohtak(later she adopted the screen name Mallika Sherawat), Haryana, India. She is a very ambitious Indian actress and model. She has a degree in philosophy from Miranda House, Delhi University. She has been married to and is now divorced from Karan Singh Gill, a pilot.
At 21, Mallika was on the cover page of an international magazine, Snoop, and the Indian edition of Cosmopolitan. And all this before her debut film had even hit the marquee. Truly outstanding for a girl, who does not come from a famous film family and has no godfather.
She did seventeen on-screen kisses in her movie Khwahish, which is quite scandalous by indian standards. Later in another film Murder she showed a lot of skin. She was nominated in the 'Best Actress' category in the Zee Cine Awards, for her part in Murder. She has also been in the news for a short appearance in a Jackie Chan film, The Myth. She appeared at the Cannes film festival in a revealing outfit as part of the publicity for the film.
In July 2004, the Bollywood film producers' union IMPAA temporarily blacklisted Mallika. Filmmaker Ramesh Sharma complained that she had committed a breach of contract when she failed to turn up, as promised, for the filming of Kab Kyun Kahan (started in 1999).
This girl from Harayana has surprised everyone by her immense and immediate success. If media attention is the barometer of stardom then Mallika Sherawat is by far the biggest star of Bollywood at the moment. And then of course there was no looking back for this Haryana-born divorcee who’s emerged as Bollywood’s latest sex symbol.
In a recent interview, Karan Khanna (Akshaye's cousin) said that Mallika Sherawat (with whom he co-starred in the flop 'Bach Ke Rehna Re Baba') told him that he was the best smoocher of all the heroes who had kissed her (on screen). "She said I kiss really well," remarked Karan. Wonder what Himanshu Malik ('Khwahish'), Siddharth Makkar ('Kis Kis Ki Kismat') and Emraan Hashmi (‘Murder’) have to say to this about this!
Actress Mallika Sherawat's (formerly known as Reema Lamba) husband, Captain Karan Gill (a pilot with a leading domestic airline in India) is said to have remarried (and become a father) after his separation with the actress and is leading a peaceful life. When quizzed about Mallika, he interrupted, "She is a closed chapter!"

Dasavatharam will be directed by K S Ravikumar, and shooting is scheduled to start August 2006. In this Asin is the main heroine. This movie Kamal Hassan is playing ten roles. Mallika Sherawat has an important role in this Kamal Haasan starrer Dasavatharam. It is now learnt that the busty belle will play a negative role in the film. Mallika plays a sensuous vamp. As learnt, she is cast opposite one of the ten characters that Kamal plays in the film.
