Meera Vasudevan was all thrilled to make her debut in Malayalam through Tanmatra opposite Mohanlal. An offbeat entertainer directed by Blessy, Meera plays the mother of two children in the movie. A visibly thrilled Meera Vasudevan, expresses her joy in being part of such a big team. ”Making debut with such a seasoned team provides great comfort. Tanmatra has brought the best out of me”, she says. In a quick chat, she shares her experiences working in the movie.
Meera Vasudevan met director Blessy in a Chennai workshop. He spotted her instantly and choose her for the forth coming movie. Meera vasudevan had no knowledge of Malayalam cinema then. Meera was thrilled when he confirmed me as the heroine for his movie. Only later she came to know that Mohanlal plays the hero in it.
Director Blessy is a household name in Kerala. Especially after his Kazcha which threw light on Gujarat earthquake victims, he was acclaimed by everyone in the industry. Meera Vasudevan was thrilled when he cast her as his heroine. More over to be part of a team that comprises Mohanlal made Meera Vasudevan really happy.
Meera Vasudevan says on Mohanlal, ‘He is a versatile actor. It has been an amazing experience to work with him so far. One can really learn a lot working with him as he helps you in getting your emotions right on the screen. A couple of more offers in Malluwood are in the pipeline now, thanks to acting with him. Nothing is confirmed as yet. But I am keen to do good roles here.’
Meera Vasudevan made her debut in Bollywood with “Rules : Pyar Ka Superhit Formula”, a sweet and satirical movie about love and heartbreak which also starred model turned actor Milind Soman. Check out Meera’s pictures, biography and filmography.
She was noticed for her role as Mohanlal’s wife in Thanmatra and now she is sizzling with Kalabhavan Mani in the movie Kali. Even though she is married, she said she has no problems in exposing. She wants to teach a lesson to all Indians who think that women lose their glamour after marriage. In Kali, atleast Kalabhavan Mani keeps his shirt on.
Meera Vasudevan is Originaly from Mumbai, Hemalatha is her mother’s name, has a younger sister. Meera Vasudevan has a B.A in Psychology and Literature. Meera Vasudevan is now settled in Chennai for life. Meera Vasudevan‘s hobbies include Exercising, Listining to Music, Watching Films and Dancing. She contributes liberaly for charity. Mera vasudevan directed plays in school and went on to act later. “There isn’t much difference between modeling and acting in movies. The latter takes more time. But both require a deep commitment. When you get some fame as a model, respectability comes along naturally. The cinema is different in this. One has to struggle and take the good and the bad from many. Each time you commit to a movie, it is almost like marriage. You have to be totally committed or it would fail”, – Meera Vasudevan.
Meera Vasudevan has modelled for a couple of ads, including the very popular ‘Om Cricketaya Namaha’ rangoli ad during the Cricket World Cup- 2002 series that made her an overnight celebrity. She debuted in Bollywood with Rules: Pyar Ka Superhit Formula and later did few Hindi films. Her sensational debut in the Tamil film Unnai Saranadaindhean made her popular in Kollywood too. Now as a co-model in a village belle get-up in the recent coke ad with Vikram she is creating waves. Meera vasudevan has also appeared in ads of chennai silks, Coke, Preethi Mixie.
