Padmapriya Biography
Padmapriya was born to Mr. V.K. Janakiraman and Mrs. Vijaya. Janakiraman. Her Father is a Brig (Retd now). Padmapriya learnt dance from famous Natya Brahma V.S. Ramamurthy. She had done 100's of public performance before coming to film world.
Padmapriya has a MBA in finance from Kirloskar Institute of Advanced Management Studies. Her first film was in telugu. Then she appeared in Tamil and Malayalam Movies. Padmapriya's first Tamil movie Thavamai Thavamirundhu was a huge hit. This was directed by Cheran and he was also the lead male in the movie. Rajamanikyam and Kaazhcha in which Padmapriya acted opposite Mammootty was also huge hits in Malayalam. This brought her more oppertunities in Malayalam movies with other heroes like Mohanlal and Suresh gopi. Padmapriya acted alongside Mohanlal in the film "Vadukumnathan".
Padmapriya has established herself an important role in Malayalam film industry, next only to Kavya Madhavan. She
was natural and unpretentious in all the films. Special mention has to be made about her role as a beggar in Kamal's Karutha Pakshikal. The two superstars like her attitude towards work
and recently both her releases Karuthapakshikal and Yes Your Honour have been critically acclaimed. In Karuthapakshikal, she stole the show as Poonkodi a Tamil migrant worker who cons people by begging on the streets with a rented child! The role proved that Padmapriya has comedy timing. So far she has done five films this year including Vadakkumnathan, Bhargava Charitham Moonam Khandam, and Aswaroodan.
And now she is Mammootty’s heroine once again for the fifth time in Amal Nirad’s Big B which will be his Vishu release. In the film, Priya plays a modern girl with an attitude. Padmapriya has announced that, her next film is with Prthiviraj.
