Priyanka Chopra Biography
Priyanka Chopra was born in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, India on 18th July 1982 to Cap. Dr. Ashok Chopra & Dr. Madhu Chopra. Priyanka Chopra was brought up at Bareli, Uttar Pradesh. Since her father was in the army, her family frequently traveled. She studied at La Martiniere Girls Hostel in Lucknow, as a young girl. Priyanka Chopra came to the United States, where she was an excellent student at Newton North High School, in Newton, Massachusetts and John F. Kennedy High School (Cedar Rapids) in Iowa. She finished 12th standard in Bareilly. She began college at Jai Hind College in Mumbai but left after winning the Miss World pageant. Priyanka Chopra wished to become a Software Engineer or a Criminal Psychologist. But a different life was waiting for her. Priyankas parents took interest and send her photographs for Femina Miss India Contest where Priyanka Chopra won the title Miss India.
Year 2000 is very unique for Indian beauty contest. For the first time, all the three Indian ladies in the beauty contest won the crowns for the same year 2000 ? Lara Dutta as Miss Universe, Diya Mirza as Miss Asia Pacific, Priyanka Chopra as Miss World.
Priyanka Chopra was flooded with offers from Bollywood after this great achievement, she had to leave her wish to be a Software Engineer or a Criminal Psychologist. Priyanka Chopra's first film was a tamil movie named "Tamizhan" (2002). Priyanka Chopra did multiple successful films including superhit Andaaz, Aitraaz, Bluffmaster, Mujse Shadi Korogi and Krrish all in Hindi.
Priyanka Chopra was joint winner with Lara Dutta for her debut ?Andaaz? in Filmfare Sensational Awards 2003. She also put herself successfully as a villain in Aitraaz & took Filmfare Best villain Award 2004 for that.
Priyanka Chopra starred in two of the most-awaited movies of the year, opposite two of the biggest stars -- with Hrithik Roshan in Krrish and Shah Rukh Khan in Don. Priyanka also bagged good projects like Nikhil Advani's Salaam-E-Ishq and scriptwriter Rumi Jaffrey's God Tusi Great Ho, both opposite Salman Khan.
Priyanka likes Indian music and dance. In her free time she enjoys writing poetry & short stories.
