Raj Biography
Just days after the news that Mohit Ahlawat was ousted from Ram Gopal Varma's Sholay remake, comes further news that a replacement has already been found.
Mumbai-based model Prashant Raj Sachdev will fill Mohit's shoes in the film. Raj did his schooling in Bombay Scottish. Ajay Devgan will play Veeru. They work for a local politician Sharad Patil, who has underworld connections. Quite good for a debutant, considering Raj will play Amitabh Bachchan's Jai in the new film. Raj is all set to play the role immortalised by Amitabh Bachchan -- Jai. Urmila Matondkar is appearing as a Gypsy Dancer in this film.
"Amidst these great actors I am completely raw," confesses Raj. "They know it, and they have been very supportive. I know there is a dagger dangling on my head by playing that role. When Ramuji says so many good things about you, it's scary because suddenly the pressure is on," Raj adds.
We will get to see Raj's six-pack abs now. AS a school kid in Bombay Scottish, Raj says he was "tall, skinny, had thin, long arms, (was) pigeon-chested, (with) thin legs and calves with a wide waist. He worked hard to get into the shape he is now.
So, the casting seems complete, and the film will resume shooting this month.
