Riya Sen Biography
The 5'1" tall, budding actress, Riya Sen is a grand daughter of legendary film actress Suchitra Sen and daughter of Moon Moon Sen. She lives with her mother and sister Raima Sen in a cosy apartment in Juhu, the north Mumbai suburb. She is also a successful model. The high point of her modelling career was when she replaced Lisa Ray as the Lakmé Girl. She herself has since been replaced by Yana Gupta.
Before come into the modelling, She studied in Rani Birla College at Calcutta. At the age of 15 she she faced the camera for the famous Tamil flick “Taj Mahal”, directed by Bharati Raja. This film did not do well and with that Riya Sen had to retune to Bollywood. Then she appeared in Bollywood opposite Akshay Khanna in Kailash Surendranath’s “Love You Hamesha”.
She was one of many Bollywood stars who appeared in Haath Se Haath Mila an anti-HIV/AIDS music video. She is also a successful advertising model also Riya Sen has many other music video's to her credit. Riya has appeared on the cover of a number of magazines. In both 2004 and 2005, she was featured in Dabboo Ratnani's annual calendar.
Next Riya Sen appeared in a Malayalam cinema. Fortunately for her, the film, ‘Ananthabhadram’ clicked at the box office. The movie, based on black magic and sorcery, was directed by ace cinematographer Santosh Sivan. Incidentally, it was Sivan’s directorial debut in Mollywood as well. ‘Ananthabhadram’ had Riya essaying the role of a seductress, which gave her enough opportunity to ooze oomph on the silver screen.
