Sunil Shetty Biography
Sunil Shetty was born in Mangalore on August 11, 1961. He is a black belt in Full Contact Kick boxing. Sunil Shetty made his first appearance in bollywood in 1992 with the film Balwan opposite Divya Bharati. The film was a success and started his career. His breakthrough role came with the film Mohra. This was followed by mostly action movies which made him even more popular. He is popularly known as the Macho man of bollywood. He did many films with action star Akshay Kumar, which resulted in hits. He went on to do roles which showed patriotism such as Border-1997, LOC Kargil -2003, Qayamat (2003).
His performance in Dhadkan was praised as he played a villainous role. He has received the Filmfare Best Villain Award for his role in film Dhadkan as a villain. He has tried to do many comic roles with little success, though his role in Hulchul was appreciated. Hera Pheri was another hugely successful comedy film that he did, costarring with Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal.
Shetty also has a production company called Popcorn Entertainment. The company has produced films such as Khel (2003) and Rakht: What If You Can See the Future (2004). The company has had little success as all these films flopped at the box office.
On his personnal side, Sunil is married to Mana and has two children named Athiya and Ahan. He also is a successful businessman owning a hotel chain and also owns the MISCHIEF garment outlet. And he's known for his gentlemanly attitude off the screen too. He is staying in Mumbai.
